The tragic death has hit all Canadians on a personal level, said Liberal MP Borys Wrzesnewskyj.

It shocks all of us - a country of immigrants - that authorities could just snuff out the life of someone so vulnerable,”

If it had not been for the video the truth would never have been known, said Protest Co-Chair Aga Magdolen.
“We have been mislead and lied to.
Imagine what it would be like, to be lost and not able to communicate and then to be abused by police.
This death could have been prevented,” Magdolen said.
